Antler

It's been so long since we've blogged on Dittamore Girls! We've had a lot going on lately... besides working with clients and managing our families. We (My mom and I) have both moved into new homes (she in Tulsa/me in St. Louis). The hilarious part (maybe just to us) is that we both chose ranch style home to renovate!  Hopefully, we will be better about documenting the renovating process for you here on the blog... along with our clients ever changing homes.

First, I wanted to show you one of my favorite items I made for our new home. Ever since my travels abroad I have loved the way the Europeans create a cozy, well-collected, lived-in approach to their design whether its in British pubs, wineries in Tuscany or in their individual homes. I think, to gather that look, a key element is lighting. So, first on my ever growing list of items I wanted for my new home was an antler chandelier. I just didn't want it to take on a backwoods country look... More sexy, glamorous, sophisticated look.

I searched high and low trying to find a reasonably priced one! I found one at Cabela's on sale for $350!!

After a few coats of paint and crystals.... I believe I achieved the look.

This beauty is one of my favorite pieces in my house so far.
